Festival President
Festival President
Celebrated television broadcaster, barrister, and devoted classical music enthusiast, Rob Rinder has been appointed as Festival President ahead of OCMF's 26th anniversary edition. His appointment brings renewed national visibility and a shared passion for bringing music to wider audiences.
'I love chamber music because it draws us close; instruments speaking to one another in a way that feels both intimate and immense, inviting us into the conversation. For me, that's where music's deepest truth lies, in the beauty and humanity that emerge when we truly listen. That's why I feel so deeply honoured to be part of the Oxford Chamber Music Festival which celebrates this art at its most profound'.
Rob brings a rare combination of public profile, intellectual rigour, and genuine musical passion to the role — a natural champion for a festival that believes great chamber music belongs to everyone.
Artistic Leadership
Founder & Artistic Director
Priya Mitchell founded the Oxford Chamber Music Foundation in 2000, bringing together a group of friends and colleagues for a week of music-making in her home city of Oxford. Twenty-six years later, OCMF is an internationally recognised festival — and the annual gathering she created goes from strength to strength.
As Artistic Director, Priya shapes every aspect of the festival — from the choice of artists and repertoire to the intimate venues and the atmosphere of spontaneous discovery that makes OCMF unique. Her vision is at once musically rigorous and deeply human.
A distinguished violinist herself, Priya studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and with Zachar Bron in Germany, and was chosen as the British representative for the European Concert Halls Organisation's Rising Stars series.
